Supercharging broker experience

We’re stepping up our commitment to supercharge support for AFG brokers with the announcement of a newly created position, Head of Broker Experience.

Head of Sales & Distribution Chris Slater said he was delighted to add the role to the AFG Sales Leadership team and announce he was promoting AFG’s Joseph Khal to the role effective immediately.

“Joseph gets results, is fantastic with people, is super passionate about the broking channel and loves helping brokers build their businesses. He is a perfect fit for the role, and it further cements our desire to work as closely as we can with our brokers to make sure we are delivering exactly what our brokers need,” he said.

Khal has a wealth experience with roles in credit and sales at CBA before spending the last few years in the AFG Home Loans business. “Joseph has acquired an intimate knowledge of how broker businesses work, is across the technology transformation happening in our industry and, most importantly, a customers’ expectations of their broker.”

He added that AFG had been impressed at Khal’s desire to continuously improve his knowledge base. “Joseph has been furthering his professional knowledge of business improvement techniques and has been refining his skills by completing a business management course, and an industry-leading commercial lending program to prepare himself for the new role.”

Joseph Khal plans to have a lasting impact in the role. “I’m excited to be appointed into a role that’s sole focus is broker experience and I’m looking forward to working with AFG brokers across the country,” Khal said. “The role of a broker and the support they need to serve their customers has changed dramatically over the past few years. The team at AFG is working hard to supercharge the way we support our brokers to stay in front of those changes.”

“AFG is investing significantly for the future and it’s exciting to be part of that,” he concluded.
